Yesterday the International Legal Technology Association kicked off it's annual conference, ILTACON, in Las Vegas, and Workspot is in the house! Be sure to visit us at booth #819 if you're in town.
We spend a significant amount of time talking to IT people in law firms because as it turns out, we have what they need. Pretty simple! And when it comes to VDI, simplicity is what we're all about. Several of our new customers are law firms, and our next-generation VDI 2.0 solutions are giving them the flexibility, scalability and performance that legacy solutions just can't deliver. Generally we find that law firms are in one of two camps:
Camp 1: You need to replace a legacy implementation. You have an existing VDI and/or published app solution that is aging and becoming increasingly unreliable. OpEx keeps going up as more resources are needed to keep the solution up and running.
Camp 2: You're new to VDI. You know you need a VDI/published app solution to support attorney and staff mobility and keep sensitive data secure, but your firm has limited IT resources to devote to the care and feeding of traditional solutions.
Here's a few examples:
Camp 1: Chaitons LLC, a law firm in Toronto. Everyday they experienced serious performance problems with their existing implementation, requiring IT staff to constantly be available to reboot servers and help users troubleshoot application access. Many weekends were ruined for lots of people at Chaitons, as attorneys and staff could no longer rely on remote access to their apps and data, the IT team was pretty much "on call" every weekend to troubleshoot remote access issues. When Chaitons discovered Workspot, they signed up for a live demo and were quickly convinced that replacing their old solution with Workspot VDI 2.0 running on Scale Computing hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) was the way to go. It turned out to be "a no-brainer". IT Director Dominique Chung tells the full story here.
Camp 1: Large global law firm. The management overhead for their current VDI solution is no longer acceptable; it's too complex and takes up too many resources. The team also decided they want out of the business of managing on-premises datacenter infrastructure, so they are ready to move to Microsoft Azure. In the near term they will take a hybrid approach and keep some workloads on-premises, while others will be delivered from Azure. Two primary use cases are driving the change: they need to make sure attorneys can get seamless access to all their practice management apps and client data whether they are in or out of the office, and they need to ensure business continuity by implementing a disaster recovery solution. We said "Yes" and "Yes"to their requirements and when they put us to the test against the incumbent, Workspot won.
Camp 2: Growing mid size law firm needs to support remote working, disaster recovery and BYOD, and they want to do it all from the cloud. No problem! Oh and we'll have that up and running in days. As this firm faces a datacenter refresh they decided to future-proof it by moving to Azure. Workspot is delivering Cloud Desktops and Cloud Apps as a turnkey service that is infinitely scalable as the firm grows. It features a flat monthly fee for all services, including Azure. In the near future we'll add Cloud Desktops in "standby mode" to address their disaster recovery needs.
Whichever camp you find yourself in, Workspot has you covered with a team of experts that can get you up and running in days, if not hours. Plus our no-risk customer engagement program makes sure you're not out on a limb!
Are you in Las Vegas for ILTACON? Don't forget to stop by booth 819. The ILTACON agenda is packed full of presentations and discussions around cloud migration, hyperconverged infrastructure, remote work, Windows 10 migration and more; these are all topics that Workspot helps customers with everyday. We'd love to talk with you about the technology concerns and questions that are top-of-mind for you and your firm.
