The Easy-to-Implement VDI Platform

Gabe Knuth Hits All Our Favorite Points

We’ve long been a fan of Gabe and his erstwhile partner in crime Brian Madden, who was one of the first in the industry to call attention to our innovation. Gabe recently wrote a great post about us on this blog at TechTarget. We’re not going to reprint his whole review, since you can read it here. However, we are going to call out some of our favorite highlights.

Here’s his first insight:

“Workspot's VDI 2.0 platform puts it squarely in the desktop virtualization market game. The company has come a long way since its early days.”

He’s right. We have come a long way since our early days. And VDI has come a mighty long way since 2008.

“[Workspot] calls the product VDI 2.0 because while the end result might be the same -- users accessing virtual desktops -- [Workspot] had the luxury of building a platform from the ground up in modern times rather than dragging VDI platforms that have been around for more than 20 years into the cloud. “

Designing completely new cloud-managed VDI architecture has been essential to making VDI so easy to implement.

“Because Workspot uses RDP, admins can repurpose any thin client that has an RDP client installed on it to work with the software. That makes a transition between VDI platforms much easier to swallow.”

The RDP vs HDX question is one we get asked a lot. For the record, VDI 2.0 leverages Microsoft RDP including RemoteFX.

"In addition to an easy-to-implement VDI platform, it also offers a corporate-managed container from which users can access their desktops, documents, web apps and other information. The container is secure, and since IT can provision and deprovision it centrally, it means it can support BYOD scenarios.

Device management continues to be a huge focus for many IT administrators looking for an easier transition between VDI platforms.

“If you're in the same situation as many companies out there -- facing a forklift migration from an old version of XenApp or having to replace vWorkspace -- give Workspot a shot.”

Workspot has such an incredibly easy solution for XenApp migration that it can be done in 3 easy steps. If you want to know how it’s done, download our XenApp Migration white paperwhite paper.

Its really great to hear respected thought leaders like Gabe appreciating Workspot’s value. To learn more about VDI 2.0 and how it provides a great experience to end users accessing virtual desktops, visit our resources page or download our white paper below.

We’d also love to meet you! Check out our upcoming events or schedule a time for a demo.
